These are a few sites that make audio books available in mp3 format freely available. They are works that are in the public domain (out of copyright).

Points to think about

Who are you trying to reach?

What are the key messages you want to send?

What is the purpose? May be different things for each of you

Content and scope of blog

What are the key messages that you want to convey? Are you trying to promote awareness of services and new resources to draw people into the library or use remotely?

Are you trying to serve avid readers better by targeted book news and information?

Are you looking for a way to be more interactive with certain groups in the community, such as the youth, who might participate on line but not face to face/

Quality is an essential ingredient

Some features to think of:

Archives - daily, monthly. Will there be a lot of entries that will be archived daily?

Categories - de we need categories? will readers want to browse by broad topic areas?

Search - will visitors want to or need to search?

Community tools - do you want content to be posted directly by others or should it be scanned for quality first? Do you want readers to leave comments and should they be sscanned first/

RSS availability to Waverley homepage

Design - uniform, smart ....

Links to other sites

Promote library events and programs. RSS feed for this?

Many library visitirs want to know about new items that have been added -
newsletter both hard copy and for the blog?

We need to be inspired, dedicated and motivated
